Job Purpose
The role of Payroll Specialist for the Minto factory plays an integral part of the ANZ HR team. The role reports to the HR Business Partner – Minto & Supply Chain with a strong collaboration with the Payroll & Benefits Specialist. This role is responsible for all aspects of payroll related to EBA employees in the Ice Cream business, and also responsible for ad-hoc reporting / data analysis. This is a permanent full-time role based at our Minto Ice Cream factory, with hybrid working arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll
Take ownership of end-to-end delivery of the payroll for all EBA (Enterprise Bargaining Agreement) employees (weekly and fortnightly pay-cycles) with high accuracy and standard, ensuring compliance with Australian legislation, superannuation and leave entitlements. Dealing with award shift patterns, penalty rates, changing payrates etc.
Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and complex queries.
Resolve employee issues and answer all payroll related questions.
Identify opportunities for service delivery improvement and lead the continuous improvement of payroll processes.
Monitor the correctness, eligibility, and timeliness of payments in compliance with Awards, EBA's, Employment Contracts, organisational policies, and relevant legislation.
Handle external inquiries (e.g., Centrelink, auditors).
Support on year-end activities for Australia.
Provide coverage for office based & non-EBA payroll processing as needed.
Data / Reporting
Manages the annual regulatory reporting & auditing requirements such as living wage, gender pay gap reporting.
Preparing and delivering ad hoc reports with accuracy and efficiency.
What you will need to succeed?

Ability to anticipate needs and solve problems proactively.
A natural collaborator – you’ll work well as part of the team, there is no such thing as “not my job!” here – we have one shared purpose, to drive growth, whilst protecting the Ice Cream business from risk.
Skills
Stakeholder management- Proven experience with managing a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, being able to support multiple requests and priorities simultaneously.
Risk Management - Proactively identify and manage risks and able to protect the business through driving appropriate risk mitigation, advising the business and adopting appropriate practices and procedures.
HR Processes - Possess experience with HR processes and operations.
Emotional Intelligence - Experienced in handling sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy, and comfortable having difficult conversations, working professionally and discreetly with sensitive information.
Experiences & Qualifications
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation in Australia, modern awards, and enterprise agreements.
Required: Minimum 3 years of payroll experience within EBA employee space (e.g. weekly casual and fortnightly permanent pay cycles; award shift patterns, changing award pay rates etc).
Experience with large payroll systems, Neeyamo - advantageous.
Exposure to establishing a new payroll system - desirable.
