Senior Executive - Communications and Strategic Planning

We are looking for a passionate individual to join us to support our Communications & Corporate Strategy team for a period of 1 year!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a member of the Communications and Strategy Team, you will play a key role in operationalizing Unilever Sri Lanka’s strategic priorities by assisting in special projects, supporting the execution of our mission, and helping senior leadership prioritize initiatives across the organization.

This role is intended for individuals who seek to strengthen organizational awareness, gain deep/end-to-end strategic and operational insights, while building strong cross-functional networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Be the strategic partner to Head of Corporate Communications and Strategy Assistant to the Chairman, shaping and executing narratives and communications that engage, inspire and align employees and other external stakeholders.
• Liaise with cross-functional teams to synthesize findings into insights across projects and leverage those insights to develop recommendations and ideas around potential growth opportunities.
• Drive execution of frontline immersion activities, including trade and consumer engagements from inception to delivery.
• Creatively use different communication formats such as live events, videos, presentations and emails. Recommends what channels are most appropriate for the target audience and drive execution from start to finish.
• Serve as the ‘go to’ operational expert for the Communications team, handling budget management, expense tracking and ensuring all administrative processes run smoothly.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business or related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in public relations, events management or employer branding.
• Dynamic communicator with a strong track record of partnering with senior executives, deep business acumen, and a passion for storytelling that supports business growth.
• Thrive in fast-paced environments, bring creativity to how we engage stakeholders, and lead day-to-day execution of multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels.
• Willingness to travel (10%-30%).
• Strong analytical skills will be an advantage.
