The Project Engineer is critical to the development of our factories to World Class standards, aiming for zero defects, zero waste, and zero losses. This role involves leading change management on projects, ensuring all necessary inputs are available. The work focuses on future-proofing a factory for new innovations, VIP, product transfers, roll-outs, recipe changes, and line extensions.

Apply the full range of Focused Improvement, Safety, Quality, and EEM pillar methods and tools to counter losses in Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service, and Logistics, optimizing project costs.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Work directly with line crews daily, acting as a technical resource and providing coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis, and counter-measure establishment.
  • Manage CAPEX across projects related to Infrastructure, Automation, Growth, Savings, Environmental, Capacity, and Process Improvement.
  • Handle aggressive timelines and deliver projects on time and within budget, with project values ranging from $50K to $5M.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments for projects, prepare and execute factory trials, including budgeting, report results, and develop process manuals.
  • Supervise project startups and conduct relevant training for operators.
  • Validate all process improvements and establish revised basic conditions on the line.
  • Eliminate losses and wastes, increasing line stability to support the transition of traditional line teams to semi-autonomous teams.
  • Use AM, PM, FI, and QC pillar tools and methodologies to eliminate waste and loss according to the WCM prioritization process.
  • Create Technical Standards to ensure process stability on the line.
  • Train line crews on technical standards and restoration of basic conditions (stability sustainability).
  • Identify and extend good practices to other lines.

What You Need to Succeed

Experiences & Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, but not limited to these qualifications.
  • Strong technical knowledge from previous practice, with evidence of eliminating wastes and losses from production lines.
  • Strong engineering leadership credentials with a proven ability to manage significant projects.
  • Experience with statistics and process control tools.
  • Experience with AM, PM, Quality, FI, and EEM/EPM tools and processes.
  • Clear understanding of operating principles and the ability to establish correct operating standards.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders across projects and deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Preferred AutoCAD background.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $86,080 to $129,120. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
