Job Title: Beauty & Wellbeing Packaging Designer
Business Function: R&D
Location: Port Sunlight Research Lab (Hybrid working)

As a packaging designer in B&W you will work across multiple innovation and capability projects which reflect Unilever’s packaging strategy. You will lead projects within cross functional teams to create packaging ideas, bring them to life in inspiring and brand relevant ways, while providing meaningful contributions in design thinking & approach.
The successful candidate will be collaborating with many functions and capabilities, both internally and externally. Functions will include Technical packaging teams, Design engineering, Brand teams, Consumer insights, Supply Chain, External partners, and Suppliers to achieve our agreed agenda.
Main Accountabilities:
- Partner with internal teams to create packaging ideas to deliver brand / R+D ambition.
- Use design tools (sketching, rendering, 3D CAD etc) to bring ideas to life and enable clear communication + inspiration for the broader team.
- Understand the consumer experience of our packaging and identify opportunities to strengthen and change it in line with future consumer expectations.
- Support development of briefs to ensure clear and inspiring projects.
- Support the creation and facilitation of workshops to co-create new concepts with cross functional teams and consumers / influencers.
- Create Key Visuals & technical specifications
- Work closely with technical partners to land new innovations.
Experiences and Skills required (but not all essential):
- A passion for the beauty industry and brands
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Design related discipline
- Experience working in a design field.
- Experience supporting projects from brief to concept.
- Well versed in design tools and techniques, including sketching, Adobe Suite, 3D CAD & prototyping
- Must be used-to be working as part of multi-disciplined teams.
- A strong communicator and influencer
- Experience understanding & expressing brand values through design
- A strategic thinker with proven experience delivering products to market
- A passion to learn and willingness to develop new skills.
- An eye for detail
- Proven project experience with ability to meet deadlines.
